The highlights of Mustang trekking are ancient Tibetan villages, rare medieval Buddhist arts and exotic culture with the unique beauty of Himalayan region. The medieval civilization of Mustang and its capital Lo Manthang lie in the remote Himalayan desert behind the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. The forbidden area of Lomanthang remained closed until the 1992 which could continue its unique and beautiful culture. The people are from the Tibetan origin which made them close to Tibetan people. There are several caves and murals of medieval period where the people live even these days. This is the region of Nepal even today the exploration is going on and the new facts are unearthed. A short 22 minutes flight lands at the Jomsom airport, and commence the hike to Kagbeni village through the Kaligandaki gorge. The trek is one of the best selected and will remind you to the journey of lifetime on the roof of the world.

Special requirements for Mustang trekking
The visitors are supposed to follow certain guidelines to ensure the preservation of unique sites, culture and beauty of the region. This region requires a special permit to be issued by the government of Nepal with the USD70$ a day and can be obtain minimum 10 days only Kagbeni/mustangKagbeni or 13 days only Kagbeni/mustang/Kagbeni. So the itinerary may prolonged for the arrival and departure as well as extra day for the preparation of the documentation.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel
Day 02: Guided city tour in kathmandu and documentation for the mustang trekking.
Day 03: Flight to Pokhara, boating in the lake and short sight seeing around the town.
Day 04: Early morning flight to Jomsom. Meet your trekking crew and trek to Kagbeni
Day 05: Trek to Chele
Day 06: Trek to Geling , visit interesting Gompas on the way
Day 07: Trek to Dhakmar
Day 08: Trek to Ghar Gompa & to Tsarang, Ghar gompa is supposed to be built around 730 AD.
Day 09: Trek to Lo Manthang, visit important monasteries in Lomanthang
Day 10: Visit Namgyal Gompa, very impressive and important Gompa inMustang
Day 11: Visit Tsocher, see the murals , art works and monasteries in the caves. You will see people living in caves even today. Back to Lomanthang. It is 3 and half hours hike one way.
Day 12: Trek to Yara village .
Day 13: Hike to interesting 13th century Gompa inside a cave and back to Yara village.
Day 14: Trek to Tangbe(3240m)
Day 15: Trek to Paha (4210 m)
Day 16: Trek to Tetang (3667m)
Day 17: Trek to Muktinath(3800m)
Day 18: Trek to Jomsom(2800m)
Day 19: Fly to Pokhara, rest in Pokhara
Day 20: Flight to Pokhara & transferred to kathmandu. Evening, celebrate your Mustang trek with traditional Nepali dinner and ethnic cultural show.
